Imagine you are at a train platform waiting for your usual train, when people start moving away from you. You know there is a public announcement, maybe you can even hear some of it – but you’re not able to get enough details to confirm what to do next. Will I miss my train? Is there an emergency? Why is there no visual update?
OpenAccess Alerts is a useful app for your mobile phone or tablet which provides up-to-date and easy-to-read information about what’s going on near you. Review targeted, text-based alerts by time and location as you move within public spaces.
Anyone can post, read and share alerts which appear as pins on a map showing your location.
The information can include traffic updates, transport announcements, weather conditions and emergency advice. It can also translate posts into different languages or provide visual cues.
Conexu has partnered with VicDeaf and Emergency Management Victoria to deliver fire updates to hard of hearing & deaf Victorians. Contact us for more information on partnerships and opportunities.
OpenAccess Alerts is a useful addition to normal emergency information, however if you need emergency help, always contact Triple Zero or emergency services through the National Relay Service via the options here.
