Connecting with our community

We attend, exhibit and present at a broad range of events such as community awareness and cultural activities within the Deaf, hard of hearing and speech-impaired communities.

These activities help place us in the best position to meet your communication and information needs. Check back often to see where we will be next!

For more information on our conference presentations, check the conferences page.

The 17th Australian Deaf Games

The Australian Deaf Games were held in Adelaide from 9-16 January, 2016.

As a sponsor, Conexu exhibited a trade display showcasing our smart techology solutions:

We worked with the Games Organisers to customise OpenAccess Alerts so that it could be used as an organising tool for organisers, volunteers, and attendees.

The OpenAccess Alerts app offered:

  • Sports schedule and results categories
  • Notifications of upcoming sports and social activities
  • Closed groups to organise teams across sporting locations
  • Turn by turn navigation to scheduled events

To celebrate the Australian Deaf Games, we launched our first South Australian venue for OpenAccess Tours, at Adelaide Oval.

In partnership with Deaf Sports Australia we also did some filming of sports terminology in Auslan, for a sports database. Stay tuned for how these resources will be delivered!
